Worked as a reporter and editor for the weekly film magazines Cine 21 and Film 2.0. He programmed the Jeonju International Film Festival as executive programmer from 2013 through 2019. He is one of Korea’s most important film critics and author of many books. He is currently serving as vice chairman of the Korean Film Council.
Her feature debut Sisters on the Road (2008) won Woman in Film of the Year (for direction and screenwriting) at the 2009 Women In Film Korea Festival. She makes films addressing social and gender issues such as Cart (2014). She also directed Hello as part of the anthology film Let Us Meet Now (2019) screened at last year’s PIPFF.
Started his filmmaking career at Independent Film Chung Nyun. After his feature debut Antarctic Journal (2005), he made films which offer a compelling combination of genre elements and unique images such as Hansel and Gretel (2007) and Scarlet Innocence (2014). He also participated in anthology films such as Show Me (2003), Heavenly Creature (2011) and Persona (2018).
Her feature debut House of Hummingbird (2018) won the KNN Award and NETPAC Award at the Busan International Film Festival and Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury for the Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival, along with numerous other awards from prestigious film festivals at home and abroad including the Tribeca Film Festival, the Seattle International Film Festival and the Istanbul Film Festival. She is currently working on her second film Dogs under the Carpet.
Debuted in the 2001 film Flower Island. She won Best New Actress at the 3rd Busan Film Critics Awards and went on to appear in more than 30 films, including Into The Mirror (2003), HERs (2007), Cafe Noir (2009), and Aewol - Written on the Wind (2019). She works across film, TV and stage.
He gained recognition with his short films Stirring Ripple (2005) and Gahee & B.H. (2006). His feature debut Last Child (2017) was screened to critical acclaim at numerous film festivals, including the New Currents section of the 2017 Busan International Film Festival and the Forum section of the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival.
